Some mobile phones now offer built-in contactless technology, and there are plans for more devices to be offering this feature in the near future.

The technology enables you to make a card payment up to £30 in any store which accepts contactless payments, by simply holding your phone up to a reader, instead of your debit or credit card.

Contactless payments are very fast as you don’t need to provide a PIN or a signature. Apple Pay and Android Pay are current examples of this payment technology, but it is likely that more will become available over time.

More information is available in the contactless section of The UK Cards Association's website.
